For a long time The President of India, The Vice President of India and The Prime Minister of India have used the services of Air India jets to travel to other nations for official and unofficial visits.

Where most of the powerful nations in the world have had private planes for their head of states to travel, India has so far lagged behind in this aspect.

Not anymore!
India is finally set to get brand new planes for the travel of all its top heads of the nation, namely the president, the vice president and the prime minister.

According to a report published in Press Trust of India or PTI, customized planes will now be used by the heads of the nation as early as 2020.

According to the source, 2 Boeing 777-300 ERs will be retrofitted and customized according to the needs of the Indian Government.

The America President's Customised Plane (Air Force One) is a highly customized Boeing 747. It's bigger and has 4 engines. The Indian Planes will have only 2 engines.

These planes were bought recently by Air India and are now being bought from Air India by the Government of India. The government has set aside Rs 4,469.50 crore for this purpose.

The retrofitted planes will now have VIP enclosures, conference rooms, and emergency medical unit.

They will also have wifi on board and anti-missile protection. All this will be done at the Boeing's facility in the US.

The best thing about these new Boeing 777 is that the new planes are highly efficient with low flying costs.

It can fly nonstop from India to the US without stopping for refueling thereby saving time and money.
