Rahul Gandhi is wrong about Narendra Modi | Elections 2019

2014 Lok Sabha elections brought about a sweeping change in the Indian Political Scenario. It not only gave India its first Absolute Majority Government in many years, but it also changed the thought process of the people.

The Indian citizen has now learnt to question the acts of the politicians. He is now more aware of what's happening around him/her and is more concerned about the growth of himself as well as the nation.

The 2014 elections gave India a strong and charismatic Prime Minister in the form of Shri Narendra Modi. It also exposed the inabilities of Rahul Gandhi and the problems within the Congress party.

Some time back, I had written a post about the Rise of Rahul Gandhi as a leader. It was quite a controversial post back then. You can read it here!

I was slightly optimistic about Rahul Gandhi back then. However, in the current scenario, he seems to be losing all chances of redeeming himself, by targetting our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi personally.

Here are some of the reasons why I think Rahul Gandhi is wrong about Narendra Modi!

This is the first post in the Elections 2019 series that I will be sharing so that we, as responsible citizens of India, can make an informed decision during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections next year.

Mallya/Nirav Modi Controversy

Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party have been on an all-out personal attack on the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, citing his involvement in helping the defaulters flee the country.

Just so if you don't know, Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi etc are willful loan defaulters that have fled the country to avoid legal action.

And Rahul Gandhi has been hell-bent on spoon feeding the point to the gullible Indian Citizens that our Honourable Prime Minister has helped them escape. But what Rahul Gandi doesn't understand is that such an allegation would have worked had he targeted the government as a whole. By constantly making it a personal allegation on Shri Narendra Modi, he is losing his credibility.

The people of India may be upset with Narendra Modi for a sudden Demonetisation decision, that caused the people a lot of discomforts, or the incomplete implementation of GST but they don't doubt his intentions or his honesty.

And then there is a huge reason why Rahul Gandhi shouldn't use such issues to target prime minister.

We all remember our erstwhile RBI governor Raghuram Rajan. He was and still is, one of the most respected persons in the country. He himself has said that most bad loans to these defaulters where given during the time of the UPA government. When Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were dictating the terms.

And it has also been clarified that despite Raghuram Rajan's repeated reminders, the Congress government took no action.

Just Imagine, can someone make so much wealth in just 2-3 years. Surely they had been building their business for quite some time. Which clearly means Congress helped them since Congress has been in power for the majority of the time in India.

And When does a person flee from the country?

When he knows he has done something wrong and he will be caught. And he fled during Modiji's government. It means the Modi government had collected enough proofs against these defaulters. And when they knew they would be arrested, they sneaked out of the country before anyone could know.

So how can Rahul Gandhi, and even Congress for that matter, blame our Prime Minister for their own misdeeds.

The nation needs to know this truth and decide accordingly.

Rafale Deal

This is another controversy that Rahul Gandhi has been stoking for quite some time now with targeted personal attacks on the Prime Minister.

And it's hilarious how the complete congress party has been on the streets protesting about this when the majority of them don't even know what it is about.

Don't believe me? Watch this!

This is the state of the party which wants to come to power again and take India to great heights.

Anyways, coming back to the topic of discussion, Rahul Gandhi feels that creating a furore over a non-existent corruption scandal will help degrade the credibility of Narendra Modi and help him rise as a mass leader. What he doesn't understand is that the opposite is happening.

As I already mentioned, people of India do not question the honesty of our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He has had a clean record as a 3 time CM of the state of Gujarat.

Whereas the 10 years of UPA government, which was dictated by the Gandhi family, was mired in so many corruption scandals.

Despite so many respectable people, the French Authorities, Air Force Chief etc coming out and saying that the deal is clean, Rahul Gandhi is still singing the same tune without any proof whatsoever.

Everywhere he goes, it's the same lines all over again. Its as if someone made him learn it by heart and now all he does is repeat those same lines everywhere. No variation, no proof and no effect.

And this is evident from the behaviour of other opposition parties as well. No one is supporting Rahul much on this issue since they all know attacking the PM personally on corruption is like shooting oneself in the foot.

What's to understand here for all of us is the fact that for 10 years, under the Congress government, no defence deal was done. India was left with its ageing guns, ships and fighter plans. Congress couldn't even build an indigenous fighter plane in over 30 years. Tejas is still far from complete.

At least, our current Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had the courage to address this situation.

He knew such allegations would crop up some day. But that did not affect his decision in any way and he took a bold step to outright buy 36 Rafale fighter planes which the Indian Air Force badly needed.

Of course, buying a fully fitted fighter jet is definitely expensive than the manufacturing of simple fighter plane, that the UPA government had made a deal for. But if you include the costs of all the missiles, support and maintenance costs, each fighter plane is cheaper than what the Congress government had initially planned for.

Maybe they were again planning for some sort of corruption. And now they are targeting Modi so that their ill deeds are not showcased to the people.

But nothing can remain hidden forever. Every corruption that anyone has done will be exposed sooner or later. It is only a matter of time. And before the 2019 elections arrive, it's important that every Indian gets to know the truth.

Final Thoughts

Rahul Gandhi is on a self-destruct path to which no one is making him aware of.

Time and again, it has been proven since the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, that targeting PM Narendra Modi personally has always backfired for the opposition. And once again, Rahul Gandhi is committing the same mistake.

What's even worse for the Congress party is the fact that through the above 2 issues, Rahul Gandhi is trying to question the Honesty of our Prime Minister - something even the ardent haters would vouch for.

What Rahul Gandhi doesn't understand is that the issues he is stoking have their roots during his own government. And people nowadays are more informed than before. They will not fall for such illogical rhetorics.

And even if some gullible Indians do fall for your baseless allegations, you need to understand that Indians are very sentimental. When they find out that you have made a fool of them, they will chase you out of this country for good.

The very fact that Rahul Gandhi, and the Congress party, have no other issue against Shri Narendra Modi speaks volumes of the kind of leader we have as the Prime Minister today.

Yes, not all of his decisions have gone as he had hoped for. But the very fact that he believes in taking strong decisions earns him my respect. In today's political scenario, how many leaders have the courage to implement bold reforms that can lead to public outcry and backlash for a short period of time?

You think yourself and decide what's good for you!
